Carol D. McGuigan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carol D. McGuigan who left us on Friday, November 24, 2023. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Carol was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. McGuigan. He was the love of her life for over 60 years. She was Born on April 21, 1938, to mother Elva and father Burton Billman in Philadelphia PA. Carol was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and a dear friend to many. Her warm smile, kind heart, and gentle spirit will forever be remembered and deeply missed. Carol treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being their MiMi, never failing to attend every accomplishment they achieved. Carol dedicated her life to her family, always putting their needs before her own. She was the epitome of unconditional love and selflessness, constantly providing support, guidance, and encouragement to her family. Her nurturing nature and unwavering love created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and countless precious memories. Throughout her life, Carol had a passion for whatever her children and grandchildren were involved in. She loved spending time with her loved ones, and whenever you saw her, you could always count on seeing her most beloved pet "Barney". She approached everything with enthusiasm and a zest for life. She had a remarkable ability to find joy in the simplest of things and taught us all to appreciate family. Carol will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by her Children, Joseph, (Rosemary) John, (Patricia) Thomas, Donna (David) & Jane (Joseph). Carol will also be lovingly remembered by her Grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Meagan, Daniel, John Jr., Michael, Shawn, Colleen, Thomas Jr., Patrick, Kathleen, Molly, Kaitlyn, Bernard, Timothy, Shannon, Erin, & Kelly, along with 21 Great grandchildren. A celebration of Carol D. McGuigan's life will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 8:30 AM, with a Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30am at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul, 18th & Benjamin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Friends and family are invited to join us in honoring her life. Interment will be private with family.
