Christopher Richard Fritz

Our beloved Christopher Richard Fritz, proud and patriotic veteran of the United States Army, was born on October 12, 1961 – Columbus Day – and passed away on April 14, 2026. Following graduation, first from The Valley Forge Military Academy, and then from Baylor University, Chris, with a deep sense of honor and responsibility, proudly served our country as a member of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment — The Old Guard — and was on standby to deploy during combat in the Gulf War. Chris was loyal, honest, loving and cared deeply about the world, nature, and all of God’s creations. He respected wildlife, the great outdoors, and had many cherished pet cats and dogs throughout his life. As a lifelong Philly sports fan, Chris was more than thrilled when the Philadelphia Eagles won the 2018 and 2025 Super Bowls! He was also a “Phillie Phanatic” and delighted in the Phillies winning the 2008 World Series, so much so that he blessed the neighborhood with a, not universally appreciated, primal front-porch scream in celebration. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, Christopher was an avid reader, history aficionado, cinema buff, and an enthusiastic purveyor of current events. Chris was smart, curious, kind, a very talented artist and an excellent writer, all while carrying a superb and wry sense of humor. He spent most of his life in Chester County, PA, and before his 93-year-old mother passed in 2022, Christopher lived with and generously cared for her for many years. Christopher is loved immensely – his life mattered – and he will be deeply missed. He is predeceased by his father, Richard Harris Fritz in 2017, and his mother, Katherine Lewis Fritz in 2022. He is survived by his four siblings: Elisabeth (Lissy), Jennifer Dinan, John, and Annabelle; three nephews and a niece: John (Maki), Peter (Bethany), Dylan (co-parent, Shayna), and Brigid (Tek); and three grandnieces and two grandnephews. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christopher’s honor can be made to Volunteers of America Pennsylvania, (https://www.voapa.org/), Tunnels to Towers (https://t2t.org/), or another Veteran’s organization of your choice. May Christopher’s memory be a blessing to all who loved him and may he rest in peace.
