Michael A. Ferrero

Michael A. Ferrero, age 73, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 17, 2025. Mike was the owner/operator of Fat Jack’s Comicrypt, which he operated for almost 50 years. It was his pride and joy and he devoted his life to the business. He gave 100% and more of himself to work and to bringing joy to those around him. Tens of thousands of people shopped at Fat Jack’s over the years and he touched every one of them, day in and day out. To say that Mike was one in a million is an understatement. He was a gentle and kind soul. His character was to treat everyone better than he ever expected to be treated. He was always there for his family, friends, and customers, who ultimately became family and friends. Mike touched so many people as a true person, a true friend, and a true brother. His light shined from within and it was palpable. Mike was very private, but every one of his family, friends, and customers knew that he was always there for them no matter what. Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Jonri J. (nee Bilyi); his mother, Catherine M. (nee Simpler); his father, Louis Ferrero; his brother, Thomas P. Ferrero; his brother, John J. Zebuski; and his brother-in-law, George J. Lord. Mike is survived by his sister, Carol A. Lord; his brother, Louis N. Ferrero; nieces, nephews, and many friends, all of whom loved him dearly. Mike will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and the entire community that he was a part of and dedicated his life to through Fat Jack’s. There will never be another person like Michael. God got a great one. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul (Main Church), 18th & Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA. Visitation will be held in the Main Church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
