Anne Elizabeth O'Sullivan

Anne O’Sullivan, 79, of Philadelphia, died on December 28, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Known to many as Annebeth, Anne will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, her kindness, her humor, her grace, her sense of adventure, and most of all, her ability to love totally and unconditionally. No relative or friend’s birthday or anniversary went by without a card. She was willing to try new things and was always up for attending a young relative’s sporting event, play, or concert. She never missed a baptism, first communion, confirmation, or graduation. She loved going down the shore; to McCrossens and Tavern on Green; to plays and concerts; to the Palestra; to Phillies’ games; to the Army-Navy game (Go Navy! Beat Army!); and anywhere with her granddaughters. She is survived by her partner of 37 years, Paul Chrystie; her sons, William Ward Norrett, Brendan Christopher Norrett (Christine Bartley), and Jason Michael Norrett; her granddaughters, Annalisa, Madeline, and Claire Norrett; her sisters, Kathleen Hinckle and Maureen O’Sullivan; her sister-in-law, Robin O’Sullivan; her former daughter-in-law, Margaret Norrett; many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly; Paul’s family; and many lifelong friends she made at Merion Mercy Academy and St. Mary’s College, and in Glen Ridge NJ, Highland Lakes NJ, and Philadelphia. She was predeceased by her parents, Ward and Kitty O’Sullivan; her brother, Daniel O’Sullivan; her nephew, Peter Hinckle; and her brother-in-law, Donald Greis. A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, 119 Rector St., Philadelphia, on January 5. Viewing 9:30-10:30, family remembrances at 10:45, mass at 11:00. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Anne’s memory be given to Holy Family Home, 5300 Chester Ave., Philadelphia, PA, 19143, which took such good care of Anne’s mother. Many thanks to the staff at The Hearth at Drexel and at Main Line Health Hospice, who gave such loving care to Anne in the final months of her life, to the staff and participants in dementia support groups at the Penn Memory Center and the Hearth, and to the neighbors, friends, and family who helped Anne and Paul navigate their Alzheimer’s journey.
