Mary Florence (Herman) Weiland

Mary Florence (Herman) Weiland 1936-2024 Mary Florence Herman Weiland, of Hatfield, passed away peacefully on June 5th, 2024, in her home at age 88. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Francis X. Weiland and infant son, brothers, Clifford and James Herman. Survived by her three devoted daughters Jeanne Peters, Sue (Ted) Stapleford, and Eileen (Robert) Pepe; loving sisters, Ida Eugenia (Jeanne) Kerr (Terrance, deceased), Jane Barnsteiner (Joanne Disch), Harriett (Joseph, deceased) Wilkinson and Anne (James) Galbally; adoring grandchildren, Sean (Tiffany) Hogan, Ryan (Siri) Hogan, Cristin (Andrew) Lightcap, Courtney (Matthew) Iatarola, Alexa Pepe; and seven great-grandchildren. Mary was proud to have been born in Philadelphia and was the daughter of Clifford Herman and Jane Powderly Herman. Mary graduated from West Catholic Girls High School. Frank was the love of her life but nothing compared to her fierce pride, love and devotion to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were her complete and utter joy. She was an active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Mary put her faith above all, followed by the love for her family. Always the caregiver, Mary was known by all to put others' needs above her own. She was always happiest surrounded by family and loved to sing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved holidays, and going on vacation-especially to Ocean City, NJ where so many wonderful memories were created with family and friends. She and Frank enjoyed traveling and visited many places and countries. Mary was an avid sports fan, particularly of the St. Joe's Hawks as her husband was an alumni, a tradition of following the Hawks that began when she and Frank were dating and continued after his death. Mary also followed the Eagles and the Phillies, cheering her favorite teams on. Mary loved music, and singing and her home would always be filled with music and joy. She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing, and gardening. She was very attentive to those she would meet, and you could be certain she included you in her daily prayers and devotions. Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass,10:30am on Wednesday, June 12th at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale PA 19446. The family will receive friends in church from 9:30 - 10:30am. Interment private.
